This is an exponent sheet. It is relevant because, exponents are used in equations a lot. I had a lot of trouble with exponents, so this was a helpful sheet to have.

I have a hard time paying attention in my classes. This has a lot to do with my grades. I also have a hard time in math. I was really behind and I had no idea how to get anything done. I decided to just go with it. I thought that it would eventually go my way. But it didn’t go the way I was hoping for. I was getting really bad grades on papers. There was this one time, I got 0/10 on a solving equations sheet. The paper had no work on it when I handed it in. When I got the paper back, it said “see me”. The teacher of the class, Ms. Vazquez, had a lot of students around her. I told her about the paper, and she told me to join their group to get help. I did just that. I asked how to solve the equations, that was what we were working on at the time. She said that the foldable would work. I used that, asked a few questions like, what does this mean, and what is that? After that, I was solving them like nobody’s business. It became pretty easy. My claim is that I grew in solving equations.
One of the main things that helped me with finding out how to solve equations was the foldable in our notebook. This foldable had a lot of steps on it, and there was a certain way to use it. If the answer to the question was no, you would go to the next step. If the answer to the question was yes, then you open the flap and do what it says.The foldable is not my own creation. But using it really benefited me. I am not able to remember all of the steps on how to solve an equation. That’s why I use the foldable. With enough practice, I will get really good at solving the equations. This will take some time, because I have not been practicing and I am not very fast at it. It still takes me some time, but the foldable did help a lot.
Next to that is the solving equations work sheet. There is a lot of writing on it. That is because I tried to fix a lot of the problems. The original answers are all wrong. They were just guesses. I guessed because I didn’t know how to do it. I mainly just wanted to have something on the paper. But it wasn’t worth it. Most of the work on the side is correct. This is the work I did with the group. Every time I finished a question, I would ask if it was right. A lot of them were. I even helped a few other students with it. I was really glad that I finally understood it.
I still need to work on paying attention, because there isn’t going to always be a sheet of paper that will help you with it. But talking with the group helped me a lot, so if there isn’t a paper to help you with it, you can try and ask someone for help.

This is the foldable, it was a very helpful tool to use. The middle of it is where all of the flaps are. They are all closed right now, but there is information on the insides of them.
